Meet Your Guide – Scott Whitehead

Scott Whitehead is the owner of Bay and Gulf Adventures and guide for your Sarasota kayaking tour. Scott combines over 10 years of aquatic knowledge obtained from his years as an ecological tour guide at the world renowned Mote Aquarium. During his time at Mote Aquarium, Scott became an expert on Sarasota’s wildlife and ecosystem, becoming the lead educator to Sarasota Bay Explores, based at Mote. Scott holds a Captain’s License, U.S. Coast Guard 100-Ton Master’s License, and is a proud member and supporter of Visit Sarasota County and The Chamber of Commerce. Scott will be your tour guide – not a hired, non-experienced guide like other companies use.

I’ve had a love for the water all my life. Growing up in Cape Cod, I was always around the water and wildlife, which is where I developed such a deep passion for both. I love teaching and educating people about our environment. I want to share my knowledge and passion with other people who want to learn about Sarasota’s ecosystem. – Scott Whitehead.

At Bay and Gulf Adventures, our mission to is put the educational factor back into kayaking. There are many other Sarasota kayaking tours companies available that will take you paddling, but none that offer the hands-on education and experiences we provide.
